"Gallery List" File Link/Page Revisions (7/29/'19)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, July 29, 2019 - 04:07 PM

We're closing in on the "finish line" regarding our "Gallery List" page modification/file links update procedures, everyone! Here's what has been dealt with today as we start off a brand new week.

As you folks already know regarding this process itself on the backend, only two pages for our site's "Gallery List" section remain to be dealt with. And one of those pages that got accounted for today was Game & Wario. Check that page out and as always, let me know via email form immediately if you run into any problems with accessing the related files on it.

The only page that remains for me to take care of now is Super Paper Mario; no ETA on when I'll get to it, but it is on my radar during the course of this week as well. I'm determined to get this done and out of the way so I can finally focus on other music operations related matter here.

Also a quick reminder: if you haven't had a chance to read about the current situation regarding our external file hosting account with Instaudio, it is imperative that you read this posting that I wrote last Saturday and see if you can help us out with suggestions to address the matter at hand. We appreciate your responses in advance; take care until next time, all. I'm out.

Instaudio Planned To Shut Down in Late September; Your Help Needed On Finding A New "External File Hosting Candidate"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, July 27, 2019 - 10:48 PM

This blog entry is to further elaborate on the news that we briefly posted about on this site update announcement that I shared with you all earlier this afternoon.

So this is the situation that we are in right now: we have received word from the folks at Instaudio (our current external file hosting service that we have stored our music operation's files on) that due to numerous unfortunate circumstances on their end, it has been decided that they are going to close their doors in late September of this year. I won't go into all the full details about it here, so it's best for you folks to read this article that they posted on their site.

So, what does this mean for us? Allow me to explain.

First, this situation in no doubt has thrown a wrench in my completing our "page modifications/file links list updating" for the "Gallery List Section" of our music operation's site. However, I do have a plan in regards to addressing this case at hand: the priority right now is to finish the page modification/file links list updating procedure as usual for the last two "big pages" (being Super Paper Mario, as well as Game & Wario). Since we do have an account with Instaudio and the administration doesn't plan on taking down the site entirely until late September, I want to make sure that we can at least get these last two pages accounted for within the next one to two weeks.

Which now brings me to the second part of this situation: the challenge facing our operations now is finding a new external file hosting successor after the Instaudio site shuts down. And I need everyone's help in finding that candidate that will deliver the same satisfactory service that Instaudio provided (and yes, that means you, the one who's reading this!).

If you all have any suggestions on any candidates that I should consider and investigate further into, please do not hesitate to let me know A.S.A.P. via sending me an email. Of course, if you have an account on Discord and am a member of our related server there, please let me know of your suggestions for new file hosting service candidates in our #music-operations-discussion channel.

Repeating, all of this must be dealt with before the end of this coming September, so the quicker you can relay your suggestions to me on new file hosting candidate services, the faster I can see about making further adjustments accordingly before the Instaudio shutdown occurs. It would be greatly appreciated; thank you all in advance. I'm out for now.

"Gallery List" File Link/Page Revisions (7/27/'19)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, July 27, 2019 - 01:44 PM

Today, everyone, I have started to attack our "final big three pages" under our music operation site's "Gallery List" section; and if the results on this recent poll that I put on our Twitter account are any indication, you all are going to be very happy that I am in no doubt listening to your responses.

That's right, the Super Mario 3D World page has gotten its respective table implemented for it (along with the file links modified accordingly). So only two more pages are left before this "modification process" for our "Gallery List" section of this site (Super Paper Mario, as well as Game & Wario) is finally in the books. Of course, I'll keep you posted on any new developments as they occur regarding that angle.

With that said, and on a side note, while I was logging into our external file hosting account to continue the "Gallery List" page modification/file links list revision process, we were given the said news that just as we were about to get fully situated with our account that was estabished with Instaudio, there is word that they're planning to shut their doors come late September. Now this puts us in another "code red" situation regarding our music files (don't worry, I still have a physical backup of all of them!), but I'll elaborate on that in another post later tonight or during the course of tomorrow. Stay tuned.

"Gallery List" File Link/Page Revisions (7/20/'19)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, July 20, 2019 - 01:30 PM

All right, faithful followers and listeners for these music operations, I have two things to share with you on this blog entry today.

First, another game page under our "Gallery List" section can now be crossed off the list: the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker page. The table for it has now been implemented and the file links have been modified there as well.

Second, I am still hard at work finding the opportunities to work on the remaining game pages in which I have implemented the tables on and changed the file links to point to our newest external file host that's housing our music operation's files, but haven't put them in the "private" status yet. So far, 14 of the 21 pages (which had tables implemented on them) have been taken care of to ensure that the file links for them were placed in the "private" status.

That said, overall, only three pages remain to be taken care of in the days to come: Super Mario 3D World, Game & Wario, and Super Paper Mario. These are what I consider to be the "big ones" because of the file count for the three pages there to be between 39 and 40 files each. And if this poll that I put up a few weeks back is any indication, you all are still patiently waiting for me to get to dealing with the Super Paper Mario page, since it's got the most votes on that poll.

Once again, bear with me, everyone; we're getting close to the finish line, but slowly regarding the page modification/file list link change process. Thanks once again in advance for your patience here, and I'll see you folks again on the next posting. I'm out.
